Our History
The Trassare family follows a long tradition of jewelers. Beginning in southern California, Trassare Jewelers came to Amador County in 1978. Thomas Trassare acquired the former office of the Ledger-Dispatch to create what is today an established fixture in the county. Known for miles around as being the most reputable jeweler, the Trassare family has long since diversified the services it offers. What was once a small jewelry business has expanded to include on-site jewelry repair, custom-made jewelry, and clock repair.
Tom’s son, Daniel, now lends his expertise in knives and cutlery and in the selling and grading of fine coins. Most recently, Daniel played a key part in designing the Amador County sesquicentennial coin which has become wildly popular with locals.
